Cash Wise in Dickinson plays host to Special Olympics “Polar Plunge” event

Despite cloudy skies and temperatures in the mid-30’s on Saturday, more than 30 people in Dickinson braved some frigid waters to support Special Olympics North Dakota. The organization hosted its annual “Polar Plunge” fundraiser in our Cash Wise parking lot using a large plunge tank, which was set up with help from the Dickinson Rural Fire Department.

“Our Store Director Matt Sellers is a great leader and is very involved in the community,” said Ken Schafer, Assistant Manager at Cash Wise in Dickinson. “Our team was very proud to see this fun event take place right in front of our store.”

According to the Dickinson Press, the Polar Plunge is organized by community volunteers and is part of the year-round law enforcement Torch Run to raise awareness and funds to support physical fitness and athletic competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Organizers tell the newspaper they raised around $12,000 this year.

Congratulations to our team at Cash Wise in Dickinson for participating and playing host to this great community event!
